Katherine McCallum

Katherine McCallum

Special Counsel

Katherine was born and raised in Brisbane.  Katherine attended Griffith University and completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science in 2000.  Although personal injury law as not her intended area of practice, it was in this area where she started her career as a law clerk, and where she has remained to this day.

After completion of two years of Articles of Clerkship, Katherine was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland on 12 December 2002.

Even as a young lawyer Katherine has been involved in complex matters and trial work encompassing a wide variety of circumstances giving rise to personal injuries sustained by plaintiffs.  Katherine continues to operate outside the square and is able to provide a perspective on matters unlike others.

Katherine is fundamentally motivated by the concept of civil justice and welcomes the necessary persistence and dogged drive when it is called for to achieve exceptional results.

In 2011 Katherine became a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in personal injuries law and is acknowledged as an expert in the field.

In 2012 Katherine sustained catastrophic injuries after a fall from height resulting in permanent paralysis, a future of complex evolving medical conditions arising from spinal cord injury, and physical confinement to a wheelchair.  Katherine has the unique position of being a career personal injury law specialist, yet also having an intimate understanding on how injury can transform one’s existence in one unexpected moment.

Katherine is down to earth, straight talking and committed to exceptional outcomes for plaintiffs.
