Paula Shelton is a Special Counsel at Longton Compensation Lawyers, specialising in medical negligence law. She is a Law Institute of Victoria accredited specialist in personal injury law.

With more than 29 years’ experience, Paula has worked across a breadth of areas including medical negligence, asbestos, institutional sexual abuse, product liability, public liability, class actions and social justice litigation.

Paula has acted in many high- profile medical negligence cases and has a been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a recommended plaintiff medical negligence lawyer.

Paula’s keen interest in medico-legal and ethical issues led to her serving on the Western Health Institutional Ethics Committee and Human Research & Ethics Committee. Her dedication to high quality health care continued with her appointment to the Board of Northern Health in 2016. Paula was appointed to the Victorian Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board in 2018, which has overseen the implementation of voluntary assisted dying in Victoria and the compliance of the system with the relevant legislation.

Paula’s personal passion has always been fighting for justice for her clients and getting them the best possible results. She is a creative and tireless advocate and enjoys helping her clients get the compensation they deserve and move on with their lives.
